Asheville Gets Active

I TRIED ON MY WEDDING DRESS SATURDAY AND IT MADE ME SAD. AS I HAVE SAID BEFORE I AM NOT SUCCEEDING IN THIS DIET THE WAY I HAD PLANNED. MY BEAUTIFUL DRESS LOOKS LIKE I COULD USE IT AS A COMFORTER AFTER THE WEDDING. I WOULD POST IT BUT HE MIGHT SEE.

I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO. THE STRESS EATING IS AN ISSUE BUT IT’S NOT THE BIG ONE.

THE BIG ISSUE IS –

I AM NOT EXCECISING. THE ONLY TIME I HAVE AVAILABLE TO WORK OUT IS FIRST THING IN THE MORNING. THIS BEING SAID, I CANNOT SEEM TO GET MYSELF OUT OF BED. I WAKE UP FEELING SO EXHUASTED I JUST GO BACK TO SLEEP. WILL – POWER ISN’T EVEN AN ISSUE, IT DOESN’T PROGRESS THAT FAR. SOMETIMES I DON’T EVEN REMEMBER THE ALARM OR HITTING THE SNOOZE. AT ALL.

I HAVE LOST 6LBS, NOT REALLY SURE HOW. I AM TRYING TO EAT BETTER. BUT THE LAST TIME I DIETED I HAD LOST TWICE AS MUCH WEIGHT BY NOW. ANY IDEAS?

THE SECOND ALARM DOESN’T WORK EITHER. I GOT UP, WALKED ACROSS THE ROOM AND CUT IT OFF WITH OUT EVEN REMEMBERING…

Don't give up Jennifer! You need to find out what is causing you to feel so exhausted first thing in the morning. Let's look at what you are doing prior to going to bed. Are you drinking too much caffeine several hours before going to bed? Do you have a routine that you do every night before retiring? I recently read that you should not read in bed nor watch TV while in bed since those are activities not connected to sleeping. The experts also tell you that you should go to bed at the same time every night and wake up at the same time---even on the weekends!!! If nothing seems to make a difference, you may be experiencing sleep apnea---this is something that you should definitely discuss with your doctor. Until you get a handle on your sleep, it will be very difficult for you to lose much weight since most people when they are tired start grabbing foods that are high in sugar and salt (comfort foods). You should pat yourself on the back that you have lost weight in the first place---at least you aren't gaining!

I have a crazy diet (3 days on/ 4 off) that helps kick my metabolism in gear. It works every time. After one day I can lose two pounds and it inspires me to keep going. Let me know if you're interested.
