Asheville Gets Active

When you exercise while shedding weight, you will not only tone your muscles but it will help your skin from getting too saggy as well. Now, I'm not talking about 3lb hand weights, I'm talking more around 8lb and up. It's great to lose weight, but I often come across those who are not exercising at the same time. Which can just turn you into a food burning machine!



Fitness is not just hopping on the treadmill and chugging along for 30 minutes. You are only burninig about 250-300 calories at most. Adding weight bearing exercises to a cardio routine can assist you in burninig about 600 calories in one hour! That's a significant difference.



Making time is the biggest challenge people are faced with when it comes to a fitness routine. One way to make it part of your day is to make it an appointment on your calendar and don't compromise it. It takes tenacity and discipline and a little reworking of the priorities, but it can be done. And get honest with yourself about exercise. If you don't honestly like it, say it! But I tell you, there is more than one way to skin a cat so to speak.
